Kathy Southerland

  

Mrs. John William Southerland, Jr. serves as a sales associate in the Charlotte and Greater Mecklenburg County area in North Carolina.

Since 1994, Kathy has represented more than 100 artists and sculptors, working in all mediums and styles, and at all price levels. She provides her clients professional service from the selection process to the unveiling, first identifying her client’s needs and matching those needs with an artist who can deliver the portrait they desire. She has a gallery with many portrait samples, references and photos from which to choose. Her goal is to make the process seamless and enjoyable, with great results, whether working with a family or an institution. She has handled more than 1,100 portrait commissions for satisfied customers.

As a native of Charlotte, Kathy attended Charlotte Country Day School and graduated from Sweet Briar College with a B.A. in Sociology. She and her husband, Bill, have two grown children and four grandchildren. Devoted to the city of her upbringing, she has served in a variety of volunteer roles as President of the Charlotte Junior League, President of the Council for Children’s Rights, President of Myers Park High School PTA, and Deacon and Elder at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, plus many other volunteer organizations. Once she joined the Portraits, Inc. team, she felt like it was a match made in heaven. “People are my passion," Kathy shares. "Helping match an artist with a client is pure joy for me. Every individual deserves outstanding professional service which I do my best to provide.”
