Elizabeth serves as an associate for Portraits, Inc. in New Canaan, Connecticut.  Since 1998 she has represented more than 100 portrait artists and brings a wealth of experience to the portrait commission process.  She has helped clients throughout New England with portrait commissions of adults and children of all ages, heads of school, ministers, judges... as well as dogs and houses. She has also assisted families in finding an artist to paint a copy of their ancestor’s portrait.

Elizabeth loves what she does and takes great pleasure in helping families and institutions choose a portrait artist and a style to suit their aesthetic and budget.  She feels fortunate to work with the carefully curated collection of artists that meets every client's needs.  The artists work in a variety of mediums, styles, and price points (i.e., pastel, oil, watercolor, charcoal and traditional, contemporary, impressionistic, abstract).  Elizabeth manages the entire project with her client from choosing an artist to coordinating the sitting through to framing and installation.

Born in Greenwich, Connecticut, Elizabeth grew up there and in Durham, North Carolina.  She is a graduate of Middlebury College and Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.  Elizabeth worked in marketing for American Express, MasterCard and First Data Corporation and, upon starting a family, chose a career in portraiture which allowed her more time at home. Elizabeth and her husband, Rab, met playing tennis in New York and have three children… and each has had their portrait painted.  Rab’s job took them to London for three years and they have lived in New Canaan for 22 years.

Elizabeth enjoys tennis, squash, paddle tennis and golf.  She is an active volunteer in her children’s schools and has served on the Board of The New Canaan Community Foundation and The Country Club of New Canaan.  Elizabeth loves the portraits she commissioned of her own children and has a great appreciation and understanding of both client and artist perspectives.
