"Shades of Blue" Exhibition Opening in Birmingham
“Shades of Blue” in Birmingham
Presented by Portraits, Inc., Equity Gallery, & RayMar Art
Liz Lindstrom, “Michael in Blue,” c. 2018, Indigo, pastel, charcoal and watercolor on illustration board, 20 x 16 in.
Blue! We are seeing so much more of it in the sky these days of the year. It is a color that holds such emotional depth and character. Blue captivates its audience and invites them to be aware of the moment. Bright, muddled, transcendent, and piercing -- it comes in many forms.
“Shades of Blue,” an upcoming exhibition featuring works of art inhabited by this color, will be on display at Portraits Inc. in our Birmingham gallery Apr. 17th –May 21st, 2021. The show is a revival, modeled after its first rendition, “Blue Drawings,” which was first exhibited in June 2015 at our former New York City gallery.
The exhibition has been organized in collaboration with Equity Gallery and DFN Projects, both out of New York City. The work has been shown by both groups respectively, and will now be traveling to our gallery in Birmingham, as the last leg of its tour. It will incorporate the works shown in New York, along with additional pieces from the Portraits Inc. collection. We cannot wait to see what blue can do for you!
Featuring works by:
Juliette Aristides, Steven Assael, Diana Corvelle, Grace Athena Flott, Brooks Frederick, Andrew Hockenberry, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Kristin Kunc,
Lisa Lebofsky, Liz Lindstrom, Hyeseung Marriage-Song, Sherrie McGraw, Dominique Medici, Alexandra Tyng, Melanie Vote, & Patricia Watwood.
